We're 'wheely' pleased our new minibuses have arrived

Here at Hibaldstow Academy Christmas came early when the news spread that the school had bought two minibuses, both having 16 seats. The buses are metallic silver with the St Hybald's Academy logos on.

It all started when Mr Nichols was researching school minibuses and thought that we should have some for ourselves. He rang different companies for quotes. He had to choose a colour from blue, red, white or silver. He decided to go for silver. He chose to get them from The School Mini Bus Company. They were then taken to MD Designs to have the logos put on.

Everyone at the school was full of happiness when the minibuses arrived early and well before Christmas, which is when we were expecting them.

Year 2 pupils said: "With the minibuses there are more chances to go on school trips."

A Year 3 pupil added: "The colours and words represent our school really well."

A Year 4 pupil told us that there are more chances for learning outside of school. A Year 6 pupil announced that they cannot wait until the next school trip.

Mr Nichols said: "There will be lots of visits that weren't possible before. There is also lots of flexibility of where, when and for how long we go."

He added that the buses meant trips would not have to cost so much either.

Deputy head teacher Mrs Birchall was very excited about the increased opportunities for out-of-school experiences. She was also excited about all of the ways to use them.

On the back of the minibuses there are contact details for the school. The interior is very inviting and the inside is very spacious, with incredibly soft, comfy seats. We are going to get some seat covers so they stay as comfy as they are now.

The buses are going to be great for going on school trips.
