Homeowners can continue to take advantage of a ten per cent discount being offered by a bed store in Scunthorpe.

The Bedshop store on Scunthorpe High Street is offering the discount to Buy Local customers who purchased anything at the store.

Karl Laking, manager at the Bedshop store, said that the store prides itself on providing all anyone needs for a bedroom and offers friendly, expert advice.

"We sell brand-named beds, mattresses, furniture and bed-frames – everything you need for your bedroom at everyday low prices," he said.

"We check our prices every day to make sure we are cheaper than other retailers."

He also said that as an independent retailer, he does not have a rigid price structure and works closely with all manufacturers to get the best price possible.

This is why Mr Laking is offering a minimum ten per cent off purchases with the Buy Local card.

Mr Laking said he has signed up for the campaign to keep local businesses alive.

"I have signed up to let the people know that the High Street does not just stop after the pedestrian zone," he said.

"We need to keep local businesses alive, as by shopping local there is more reinvestment in the area. We don't want to be seeing any more 'to let' or 'for sale' signs on the High Street. The thing is that you get a lower price and much better level of service than you would with many of the multiple stores."

Mr Laking said there were car parking facilities at the rear of the shop and that parking fees would be refunded when the ticket was redeemed against any purchase.

He added that the Bedshop offers free delivery and disposal of old beds.
